Versace Mansion in South Beach, Gay-Friendly Attractions in South Beach

Versace Mansion

Ocean Drive’s most infamous residence and one of the most popular gay-friendly attractions in South Beach. Versace Mansion in South Beach is a must-see Miami attraction featured in every Miami travel guide. The history of this gay-friendly attraction in South Beach began in 1992, when Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace visited South Beach, saw the mansion, and fell in love with it. Gianni Versace lovingly restored the home to its original glory and brought international celebrities to party there. Nevertheless, Gianni Versace’s party ended in July of 1997, when he was shot on the steps of his very own South Beach mansion.

Since 1997 Versace Mansion, also know as Casa Casaurina, has become into a popular tourist spot in South Beach, where people take pictures every day. Versace Mansion has an inner courtyard, yet only a lucky few are able to view the inside. Unless you are a guest or invited for a special event, you will not be able to go inside, but you can still admire the mansion from the sidewalk.
