Espanola Way South Beach, Gay South Beach Attractions

Espanola Way

There is no other gay South Beach attraction as Espanola Way South Beach! This wonderful South Beach Spanish village packed with delicious restaurants has “gay”written all over. North of 14th Street between Washington and Pennsylvania Avenues, Espanola Way was modeled after artistic and romantic Mediterranean villages in Paris and Spain. While the area was originally intended for Miami Beach’s high society, the ‘20s brought about rough conditions as gangsters like the infamous Al Capone, who used the Clay Hotel for gambling.

This gay South Beach attraction is well-known for its delicious painteresque sidewalk restaurants. From Italian to Spanish tapas there are a few places to choose from. Mojitos, at the Mojito Bar, might be some of the best in town. Additionally, Espanola Way is home of several cultural activities and events. For instance, South Beach Cinematheque is situated on it. Free 20-minute walking tours are available by appointment. Tours begin at the Clay Hotel.
