Transportation in Miami

Transportation in Miami could be easy depending where you are and where you want to go. The Miami transportation system covers the main areas of Miami-Dade County. The Metrobus stops have a sign followed by the route numbers of the buses that pass by that particular stop. All the buses have their destination appearing on the front of the bus, thus it is very important for you to make sure you get on the right one otherwise you might end up lost.

The Metrorail also makes part of the Miami transportation system with over 20 stations. Although it does not cover all of Miami, it covers the main areas of the Dadeland, University of Miami, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Downtown, and Hialeah.

The Metromover is a great way to travel within Downtown Miami. It is free and ideal to avoid the heavy traffic and trouble finding a parking spot. The stations for the metromover are found 2 blocks apart from each other unlike those of the Metrorail. The Metromover is ideal when going to the American Airlines Arena or Bayside Marketplace which is a very popular Miami tourist attraction.

There are a variety of taxi cab companies offering their services to the tourists in Miami. This is a convenient way to get around without getting lost; however, this could be an expensive way to spend your vacations in Miami. It is recommended to take a taxi when it is late at night or if you are uncertain of where you are going. Taxi cabs are just a phone call or a wave away.
